Beth Shannon, DVM
Dr. Beth Shannon has been a trusted member of our veterinary team since joining the practice in 1998. Her dedication, skill, and genuine love for animals quickly made her an invaluable part of the clinic, and in 2009 she became an ownership partner. With decades of experience and a steady, thoughtful approach to care, Dr. Shannon is deeply committed to serving both her patients and their families.
Her professional interests include feline medicine, radiology, and providing gentle, compassionate euthanasia. Dr. Shannon has a special place in her heart for cats and is well known for her calm, patient approach that helps even the most nervous feline feel at ease. She believes that every pet deserves comfort, dignity, and respect at every stage of life.
At home, Dr. Shannon is happily owned by two beloved Burmese cats who keep her entertained and well supervised. When she’s not at the clinic, she enjoys cheering on the Chicago Cubs and supporting University of Iowa football, finding just as much joy in game day as she does in her work with animals.
Dr. Shannon is honored to treat every patient with the compassion and respect.
Barbara Shields, DVM
Dr. Shields has been practicing veterinary medicine with steady hands and a caring heart since 2001, and her love for animals has only grown sweeter with time. She joined our practice in 2012 and quickly became a trusted part of our family. In 2017, she proudly became a partnership owner, a role she carries with gratitude, dedication, and a deep sense of responsibility to her patients, clients, and team.
Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery and internal medicine, where she enjoys the careful work of problem-solving and healing. She also considers it a true privilege to provide gentle, compassionate euthanasia when needed, believing every pet deserves peace, dignity, and kindness at the end of a life well loved.
At home, Dr. Shields shares a full and happy life with her husband, their three children—one proudly serving in the Air Force and two currently away at college—and a lively menagerie of two dogs and four opinionated cats who rule the roost. Outside the clinic, she enjoys visiting local breweries, trying new flavors as a self-proclaimed novice foodie, and spending any free moment she can with her family and animals.
Dr. Shields feels honored to do the work she loves and is dedicated to care for each pet as if it were her own.
Lindsey Sullivan, DVM
Dr. Sullivan grew up in the Oskaloosa area and received her B.A. in Biology from the University of Northern Iowa in 2007. She graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. After graduation she practiced veterinary medicine in Vinton, Iowa. Dr. Sullivan is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Sullivan especially enjoys client education and welcomes opportunities to speak to children about veterinary medicine. In her spare time Dr. Sullivan enjoys hiking, biking, reading, and hanging out with her Silver Persian, "Mortimer."
Alinda Sabourin, DVM
Doctor Alinda Sabourin graduated from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She is married with one son, and resides with 6 dogs, two fish tanks, a pet jumping spider, and a loft of homing pigeons.
Her medical interests include allergy management, senior wellness care, dentistry, and exotic pet wellness.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, training and hunting with her hunting dogs, and fishing with her family.
Shaimaa Medhat, DVM
Dr. Shaimaa Medhat holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Veterinary Medical Sciences and a doctorate degree in Virology from Egypt. She has passed the BCSE (Basic Clinical Sciences Examination) for the ECFVG (Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates) certification and is preparing for the NAVLE (North American Veterinary Licensing Examination) and CPE (Clinical Proficiency Examination) to complete her U.S. veterinary licensing.
Dr. Shaimaa joined our team in 2025 and has been a wonderful addition to our practice. Once she completes all of her requirements for her US license, we will begin scheduling appointments and surgical procedures with her.
